Located in Tahrir square it houses an exquisite collection of Pharaonic antiquities, no Cairo tour is truly complete without a visit to the museum. From its entrance which displays the beautiful Papyrus and Lotus flowers, to its exhibits that are arranged through the two-floor building according to eras. The collection of 250,000 artifacts is diversely classified into statues, coffins and stone carvings, as well as, gadgets, tools, gold artifacts, jewelry. You are bound to watch in awe and astonishment the room of mummies, and the statue of King Akhenaton, Hatshepsut, and the truly wondrous collection of Tutankamun.
