West Bank
The city of the dead!
Crossing the Nile from the East to the West held a deep meaning for the Egyptians, and is still a one of a kind experience. It meant to leave life and walk into the mesmerizing necropolis of the West side. Excursions to the West bank cannot be described but simply experienced, from the Valley of the Kings, that houses many tombs including Tutankhamun's, to the Valley of the queens – where queens like Nefrtari reside. Also, these extravagant tombs were built by the workers who resided in the Village of Deir el Medineh.
Exploring the West bank means to delve into the lined pillars of hieroglyphs, the freshness and liveliness of the drawings from the book of the dead in the tombs, and relish in the timelessness of this archeological paradise in a desert bordered with verdant fields. Prepare to be amazed as pure iconography is made manifest!
