North of Luxor lies Abydos where the Temple of Abydos stands as one of the well-preserved temples in Egypt, it is dedicated to the god of the underworld – who the ancient Egyptians believed was buried there - also, this locality has a collection of temples including the Osiris temple, and cemeteries as well.
